            As one of the field’s devoted female reproductive endocrinologists, Elena Trukhacheva, MD, MSCI, demonstrates a deeper understanding of her patients.


            Dr. Elena Trukhacheva is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She has devoted her professional life to academic medicine, research, and to the clinical practice of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.


            Dr. Trukhacheva is a speaker for the American College江苏快3开奖结果三 of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She also serves as a reviewer for the Fertility and Sterility journal and leads the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis International Society (PGDIS) committee for Clinical Applications. As a clinical assistant professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Midwestern University, she is actively involved in teaching medical students and OB/GYN residents from Midwestern University and Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

            • WHY DID YOU BECOME A DOCTOR?
            • When I was about 7 years old, I had a flu. I recovered, but still had a fever on and off for about a month or so. I saw multiple specialists and nobody could tell what was going on with me. I remember I kept thinking that somebody has to be able to figure it out…Medicine is a challenging field where unique individual abilities like superior analytical thinking, attention to details, and scientific knowledge are critical for success. However, it is compassion, sympathy, and humanity, that help physicians connect to their patients during the times when they are most vulnerable, and make a difference in their lives.I was up for a challenge, and wanted to become that physician who can face any complex clinical situation and has enough knowledge, expertise, clinical experience, patience, and sympathy to be figure out what exactly is happening and come up with the best treatment plan for the patient.

            • I was lucky to meet many extraordinary people who inspired and supported me.My outstanding science teacher helped me turn my curiosity into passion, and eventually supported me to win multiple local, then national, and international biology competitions.As a result, I was accepted to the best Medical School in Russia without the usual entrance exams and on full scholarship.Many extraordinary physicians who trained me not only helped me develop clinical and surgical skills, but served an example of how to build the relationship with patients and help them go through treatment, lead a medical team, teach residents and medical students, and also be a mother and a wife.My parents always said that the only limits you have are the once you set for yourself.My patients inspire and motivate me every day. Their resilience and motivation is incredible. My family brings the most joy and happiness into my life. It is a privilege for me to be able to help our patients build their families and support them through this journey.
            • WHAT IS SOMETHING ABOUT YOU THAT WOULD SURPRISE MOST PEOPLE?
            • I went to music 江苏快3开奖结果三 and considered a career in music at some point. I played piano and guitar, and was a decent singer.I came to the US by myself at the age of 25 with 2 suitcases. All I had was a medical degree, US medical boards passed with great scores, and OBGYN residency position at Baylor College江苏快3开奖结果三 of Medicine. I cannot be grateful enough to my first Chairman Dr. Joe Lee Simpson who inspired and believed in me. When he interviewed me initially, he said: “Come to Baylor and we will help you achieve anything this country江苏快3开奖结果三 makes possible”. He was honest, training at Baylor opened so many doors for the future career.

            • Graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2000 at Russian State Medical University in Moscow, Russia

            • Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Northwestern University
            • Master of Science degree in Clinical Investigation
            • Formal training in: biostatistics, epidemiology, and the design of clinical research studies
